OpenAI’s DALL-E Editing Feature: AI Isn’t Taking Over Your Photoshop Anytime Soon!

OpenAI recently released DALL-E for ChatGPT, a new AI image editing tool that promises to allow users to make specific changes to their images by highlighting sections. However, while the tool sounds promising in theory, its practical application has left something to be desired.

Gizmodo conducted tests on the new DALL-E editing tool and found that, while OpenAI’s DALL-E is one of the top AI image generators on the market, the editing tool falls short of expectations. The tool’s limitations highlight a common issue with AI image generators – they often lack the understanding of what they are doing.

The editing feature of DALL-E may not provide the precision and control users expect from an editing tool, as it is actually editing the message of the image and generating a new one each time in the specified area. Understanding the limitations of DALL-E is crucial to using the editing tool effectively, as it may only work well for simple changes like adding a birthday hat or changing the scene from day to night.

While the DALL-E editing tool may work in limited circumstances, it does not offer the level of customization that users might expect. It is important to keep in mind that AI image generator editing tools are still evolving and may not always deliver the desired results.
