Elon Musk’s Neuralink is on the Hunt for a Fresh Cyborg
Neuralink Accepting Applications for Second Patient
Neuralink by Elon Musk is now accepting applications for a second patient to receive its brain implant, just five months after Noland Arbaugh became the first to undergo surgical implantation of the startup’s technology. The second patient will receive the same groundbreaking technology that Arbaugh has received, reportedly while dealing with reported glitches of Musk’s new technology.
Be a Pioneer in Brain Technology
“Neuralink is accepting applications for the second participant,” said Elon Musk on Friday. “This is our cybernetic brain implant for telepathy that allows you to control your phone and computer just by thinking.”
Redefining Human Capabilities
Redefining the boundaries of human capability requires pioneers. If you have quadriplegia and want to explore new ways of controlling your computer, we invite you to participate in our clinical trial.
Last week, Neuralink released an update on its first patient, who revealed several initial successes but also a brief loss of functionality. Arbaugh, who was paralyzed from the neck down in 2016, says that Link has helped him “reconnect with the world” by allowing him to control a cursor and play video games with his mind. However, the study details a moment after the surgery when the threads of the Neaurlink chip retracted from Arbaugh’s brain, causing a reduction in functionality.
