Opinion: Trump “blessed” Project 2025 agenda, says author in leaked video.
Donald Trump, who has no ties to the dystopian political agenda of the Heritage Foundation seeking to drastically reorganize and dismantle much of the federal government. However, in a video where one of the key architects of the plan tells undercover journalists that Trump has provided funding for the project and “strongly supports” their out-of-touch agenda. The plan would have broad impact on American culture, including drastic changes in science and technology policy.
Undercover journalists from the Climate Reporting Center recently used hidden cameras to film a private conversation with Russell Vought, one of the leading minds behind Project 2025. Vought also heads a right-wing think tank dedicated to “turning the tide of progressive liberalism” in the nation. The journalists got Vought to admit that despite what he says in public, Trump supports the political agenda of the Heritage Foundation.
“He has been in our organization, raised money for it, and blessed it,” Vought said of Trump. He also added that the former president “strongly supports what we do,” despite Trump publicly denying it.
A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign told CNN: “President Trump’s campaign has made it clear that only President Trump and the campaign, and NO other organization or former employees, represent the policies of the second term.”
Vought, like many others associated with Project 2025, has close ties to Trump. He also played a significant role in Trump’s first administration as director of Management and Budget, tasked with “deregulation agendas in the executive branch.”
The 900+ page manifesto of the initiative contains passages that seem more like they were taken from a pamphlet handed out by some strange person on the street, rather than a political agenda from a major think tank, including expressions in favor of making pornography illegal nationwide.
Strong statements on sensitive issues
“The pornography that manifests today in the widespread spread of transgender ideology and the sexualization of children, for example, is not a political Gordian knot that inexorably links the assertion of the right to expression, the right to property, sexual liberation, and child welfare… Those who defend it are child predators and misogynistic exploiters of women. Its product is as addictive as any illicit drug and as psychologically destructive as any crime. Pornography must be declared illegal…”
