Cybertruck police cars could be just over the horizon.

The Tesla Cybertruck could be little more than a concept after six months of travel, but that hasn’t stopped people from celebrating Elon Musk’s vision for the future. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that some people want to turn the Cybertruck into a police car and have even designed modifications to make it a reality.

Unplugged Performance, a vehicle modification company based in the small town of Hawthorne, California, adjacent to Los Angeles, home of SpaceX, recently posted a video showcasing what a police Cybertruck could look like. And it’s generating a lot of buzz.

“This is awesome. Can you imagine this pulling me over? I’m not sure if I would be worried or fangirling,” wrote one user.

Others compared the modified Cybertruck’s appearance to something out of the classic 1982 science fiction film. The comparison obviously makes sense, considering Harrison Ford plays a police officer in the movie, although Cybertrucks can’t fly like in the film.

Unplugged Performance’s law enforcement arm, UP-FIT, is already advertising a “tactical” Cybertruck, touted as the company’s “most ballistic capable patrol vehicle,” although it’s unclear if any police department has placed orders yet.

According to reports, UP-FIT has already sold modifications to the Anaheim Police Department for the Tesla Model Y. PopSci spoke with Unplugged Performance’s president, Ben Schaffer, who told the news outlet that the company is “indeed working with police departments when it comes to Cybertruck law enforcement vehicles,” without going into specifics.

For what it’s worth, Tesla CEO Elon Musk seems to embrace the idea of police using Cybertrucks. The Rosenberg Police Department in Texas tagged Musk in a tweet in January, saying, “It’s still hard to find new vehicles to replenish our older police units. Should we make the switch in 2024?” Musk responded positively.

Unplugged Performance did not immediately respond to a message sent on Thursday morning. Gizmodo will update this post if we receive a response. In the meantime, it seems like a very real possibility that we could see Cybertruck police cars in the future. So try not to laugh if soon a police officer wants to show you all the features their vehicle can do.

They’re not laughing at you, officer. They’re laughing with you.
