Xiaomi’s MIUI and HyperOS systems are , but the presence of integrated advertising remains an inconvenience for many users. Fortunately, there are simple ways to disable these ads without the need to install additional applications. By adjusting a couple of settings, you can practically eliminate all the advertising from your phone, significantly improving your user experience.
First step: disable the ‘msa’ service
The main culprit of ads on Xiaomi devices is the service called ‘msa’. Although it is not possible to disable it completely, we can deactivate it by following these steps:
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Go to Fingerprint, facial data, and screen lock.
- Select Authorization and revocation.
- Look for the service called msa and disable it.
By doing this, you will revoke the permissions that allow ‘msa’ .
Second step: disable ‘msa’ notifications
To further reduce advertising, it is advisable to disable ‘msa’ notifications. Follow these steps:
- Open Settings and go to the Apps section.
- Select Manage apps.
- Tap the three dots in the upper right corner and choose Show all apps.
- In the search bar, enter msa.
- Tap on Notifications and disable the Show notifications option.
Additional step: disable suggestions on the home screen
To ensure that no more ads appear, you can disable suggestions from the home screen:
- Press and hold the home screen.
- Select Settings.
- Tap on More and disable the Show suggestions option.
