Airbnb provides complimentary lodging for victims of wildfires in Los Angeles

Airbnb’s Support for Los Angeles Fire Victims

Airbnb is offering assistance to residents in the Los Angeles area affected by the devastating wildfires in Southern California. The company has partnered with 211 LA, a nonprofit hotline that provides local information services in multiple languages. Currently, Airbnb is focusing on helping residents in areas such as Altadena, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, Santa Monica, and Sylmar. The company may extend support to other areas and encourages local residents to stay updated for further information.

Solidarity and Humanity

Other guests with existing reservations in affected areas of Southern California can end their stay early under Airbnb’s Disruptive Events Policy to receive a refund for the remaining duration of their stay. Guests whose stay had not yet begun can cancel and receive a full refund. Hosts are allowed to cancel bookings in affected areas without penalties or consequences.

Reports indicate that at least 1,000 structures have been destroyed by the ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area. Social media videos depict devastating scenes, with luxury housing areas in ruins, including the Pacific Palisades region.

This is insane. The Pacific Palisades looks like a war zone. Thousands of acres destroyed in a day. Hoping the fire can be contained soon.
