Study uncovers the 6 trendiest cities in Europe for living or exploring
In a continent where many cities are already considered relatively safe, a new study by the tour operator has determined which ones best combine a low current crime rate and minimal increase over the last five years. The result is the Safest Destinations Index, where the lowest number indicates the highest security.
Joanne Lynn, European Product Manager at Riviera Travel, points out that these places allow for “freely walking with peace of mind,” although it is always advisable to exercise caution when visiting any destination.
Dubrovnik, the undisputed leader

The so-called ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’ in Croatia tops the list with an overall score of 44.1. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dubrovnik maintains a very low crime rate despite its popularity as a tourist and party destination.
Its well-lit fortified old town is safe for walking even at night, a fact supported by the local community, welcoming to visitors and protective of its neighbors. While serious incidents are rare, cases of pickpocketing and minor scams can occur.
Tallinn, the medieval gem of the north
In second place, the capital of Estonia scores 55.8 points and is one of the safest in the. Its old town, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, retains the essence of a medieval trading city.
Tallinn stands out for modern security measures, such as the “Women for Women” service in the Bolt taxi app, and an electronic administration system that facilitates access to services and assistance.
Warsaw, security in a major capital

With 60.2 points, ranks third. Although crime has slightly increased in the last five years, the current level remains low. The city combines reconstructed neighborhoods after World War II with contemporary and highly monitored areas.
The strong police presence, public lighting, and economic stability have reduced incidents, improving the sense of security for tourists and residents.
