Court documents reveal that since February 2022, Postovoy allegedly acquired microelectronic components in the United States, them to Russia through a network of companies located in Russia, Hong Kong, and other countries. These components have military applications and could be crucial in the development of unmanned aerial vehicles.
To carry out these illegal exports, Postovoy is said to have falsified documentation regarding the final destination of the products, using intermediaries in Hong Kong and Switzerland. Additionally, payments were made in US dollars from foreign bank accounts, allowing the financial flow to be disguised.
The Russian Embassy in Washington has acknowledged Denis Postovoy’s arrest, but , they have not yet received formal notification of the arrest from US authorities. They have requested information on his whereabouts from the US Department of State and have pledged consular assistance to their citizen.
