Lyft is celebrating National Dog Day by introducing Pet Rides, a highly requested feature that its competitor has been offering on its platform for years.
How to Request and Book a Pet Ride?
To book a Pet Ride, users will have to select that option from the list, and the app will match them with a suitable driver. Pets must be secured in a carrier, on a blanket, or at the passenger’s feet. For courtesy to other passengers, it is recommended that pets do not sit on the seats. Pet Rides are currently limited to the United States, allowing a maximum of four passengers and one animal in the vehicle.
Lyft stated that Pet Rides have been a frequently requested feature for some time, strategically launching it on National Dog Day to celebrate and promote dog adoption. The company collaborates with animal shelters and rescue organizations, offering promotion codes and discounts to those who adopt a furry friend from participating shelters.
