Morocco aims to become the new hotspot for dental tourism: travel with a smile included
Morocco has found a new way to attract tourists: offering cultural experiences and, at the same time, low-cost dental treatments. What seemed like a minor trend has become a phenomenon gaining strength on social media and travel forums. However, alongside the appeal of prices, doubts arise about the quality, safety, and long-term consequences of these express medical practices.
The Rise of Dental Tourism in Morocco
The phenomenon is no coincidence. More and more local agencies and clinics offer packages that include flights, accommodation, tourist activities, and dental treatments. The promise is clear: in just a few days, the visitor enjoys the country’s culture and returns with a renewed smile, competing with established destinations like Turkey or Albania.

Express Treatments and Unbeatable Prices
The services offered include veneers, implants, orthodontics, crowns, and whitening, with the main attraction being the cost: some treatments are up to 80% cheaper than in the US or UK. There are even “couples’ packs” advertised, with veneers priced around 2,000 euros for two people.
A Concerning Competition for Dentists
The General Council of Dentists in Spain has expressed concern about this trend. Its president, Óscar Castro, warns that dental treatments require time, revisions, and proper follow-up, something challenging to guarantee in tourist packages. Risks range from dental sensitivity to gum problems or tooth loss. Additionally, if a complication arises back in the home country, legal responsibility is unclear.

Between Opportunity and Recklessness
While for many tourists, the equation seems perfect – exotic trip and cheap treatment – professionals insist that leisure and health should not be mixed. Morocco, like Turkey and Albania, is emerging as a leader in this niche of medical tourism, but the key question remains unanswered: is it worth it for a lower price and unforgettable vacations?
