Dog Behavior and Training Changes Post-2020 Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the behavior of dogs, with a study from the Dog Aging Project revealing that dogs adopted after 2020 showed more difficulties in training. Despite stable behavior profiles, these dogs enrolled in the study scored lower in training compared to those who lived with their families before the pandemic. Possible causes include mass adoptions in shelters, stress in homes, and life stages influencing how dogs respond to training. The research emphasizes the need for further investigation to better anticipate training and well-being challenges in dogs.
