Live streaming shutdown between New York and Dublin: Why can’t we have nice things?
The 24/7 live streaming “Portal” connecting New York City and Dublin was temporarily shut down due to inappropriate content sharing, like photos and videos of penises and boobs. The project, created by Lithuanian artist Benediktas Gylys, aims to connect cities through a futuristic-looking portal. Despite some mishaps, people have been using the Portal to connect in various ways.
Dublin City Council has paused the project to address the reported inappropriate behavior, but plans are in place to ensure a positive experience for both cities. The portals are expected to be back online soon with enhanced security measures.
