Tesla Cybertruck sales halted due to unintended acceleration: report

This story originally appeared on [source]. It seems that Tesla has issued a stop sale order to address a serious issue that could lead to [problems]. Several posts on forums and social media about X and [have raised the issue.

Several people have even posted that their upcoming deliveries have been delayed or canceled, according to [source]. I usually take news with a grain of salt, especially because we cannot reach Tesla for confirmation, but this time is different. Even [source] has posted that deliveries have been halted “for 7 days due to an issue with the accelerator pedal.”

A TikToker named el.chepito1985 explained the issue in some detail. Basically, the metal cover of the accelerator pedal is not securely fastened. This can cause the piece to get wedged between [and the truck’s bulkhead. If that happens, the pedal is pushed to the floor, causing the truck to accelerate at full speed. With a truck weighing as much as the [does and a 0-60 time of over 2.5 seconds, this is a real problem. Fortunately, you can override the issue by keeping the [brake pressed, but as soon as you release the car lurches forward.

This news comes shortly after a report that Tesla informed production workers at its Austin, Texas facility that their shifts would be shorter starting on April 15th.
