“Fresh Crypto Platform Set to ‘Tokenize’ Time – Get in on the Action!”
The crypto industry has proven its knack for “tokenizing” (or, put simply, “monetizing”) just about anything. Take the NFT market, for instance, which turned digital receipts of web files into a multi-billion-dollar industry. It seems like there’s no limit to the wealth that can be generated when people are willing to spend their money on questionable things. And now, a new crypto platform is claiming to monetize our very experience of time.
Time.fun is making waves as a “tokenized time platform.” But what does that even mean? Well, it’s actually more straightforward (and perhaps more absurd) than you’d think. When you visit the platform’s website, you’ll find an interface where users can search for “creators” and influencers and pay them to interact with them for a set period of time (often very short). The motto? “Time is money.”
### How does it work?
In a nutshell, Time.fun is like a blend of Cameo, OnlyFans, or Fiverr, but with cryptocurrencies as the focal point of its system. Content creators can set their own rates for the services they offer, ranging from access to influencers, musicians, visual artists, to technical experts providing feedback on UX design and web development. Users can engage with creators through direct messages, group chats, and voice or video calls.
“I think tokenized time is the best way to ‘bet on someone’ regardless of what project they’re working on. If they’re just starting out, you simply buy their time,” explained Kawz, the founder of Time.fun, to The Block. “And if the company or their career takes off, the value of their time should naturally increase because more people will want access to them and seek advice. That’s what I’m aiming for.”
Kawz expressed, “Time.fun is just the beginning. We need to make it successful first before exploring other use cases. The ultimate goal is to establish a new class of assets where people can own, trade, and utilize others’ time across various products and services.”
Similar to other crypto platforms, Kawz’s site is repackaging existing services and exchange systems, weaving them into the unregulated world of decentralized finance (DeFi). All work demands time, and in that regard, all work involves monetized time. Simply put, Time.fun is another service marketplace with a fresh twist – here, you can pay with cryptocurrencies.
